S10xGN Explorer 8.8"'s are good and cheap, may need to move the perches though...

prostreet6t9 My buddy just did a 55 ford truck swap. He used a 9" out of a 78 F150. I believe the 78 diff was 4"ish wider but it worked out good with his wheel and tire combo.

You will have to measure, from backing plate to backing plate to see what you have. then measure from frame to inner lip of fender that will tell you how much space you have to work with. Check your tire at the fattest part. Then go to the local you pick and bring a tape and start measuring. I would put a car rearend in it for the gearing, but you can check the tag to see what you are getting.

You might have t cut the mounting pads off and move them, just don't cut though the housing. If you want different springs you will have to measure what you have then find some the right length, or you can buy a mounting kit.

Needing to update rearend of my 54 Ford PU. What's my best donor for this swap. Keeping it Ford and springs. Drum/Disc brakes not that important to me
