700r4 tv sticking

i know ive posted about this befor kinda but is it better to have the anti stick spring in the tv valve or not ive had a lot of prob with mine sticking at wot and not letting it shift with the spring in but there was a lot of trash in the transmission cooler so i cleaned it out and going to put it all back together for the 3 time and i wanted to know if i should put the spring in or leave it out? please help

84chevyc10 yes ive tride that and it did not work so i will drop the valve body and take it to a shop and see what they can do for me

SSedan64 Pretty sure all TransGo kits have that spring. It shouldn't cause binding/sticking. If the Bore is severely worn/grooved it may be causing the problem. Only Reaming & a new Valve will fix it, if that's what's happening.
If you've tried the snatch/jerk & release method to free the TV and the problem is returning there's something wrong in the Bore or alot of trash/debri in it.

84chevyc10 is it posable that the Throttle Valve is stiking bc of the spring that they say will keep it from sticking?

SSedan64 Yes, i mentioned it in my 1st Post above.
I noticed in you have another Post about the TV Valve. If you're still having that problem you may need to take the ValveBody & have the TV bore reamed & new/larger TV installed to correct the problem, mentioned above also. If the Bore is badly worn/grooved causing the Valve to bind/stick that's the only thing that will fix it. Could possibly find a cheap Rebuilt/Remanned Valvebody if the Trans has lots of miles on it. There's an old Thread on here with Info about a guy that sold them, 700R4/4L60/4L60E Vbodies.

84chevyc10 i was looking around and found a TRANSGO JR shift kit and it said that it fixs the sticking tv valve and other stuff is this kit any good?

SSedan64 It has 3 levels of shift feel & 2 shift options, it can be setup to shift how you want. Competition, Off road And Pro-street.
I recommend the Auto/Manual combo shift option or Gear Command with automatic upshifts.

700r4 throttle valve spring

i have a 1984 chevy c10 with a 700r4 and the throttle valve is getting stuck even tho it had the after market spring in it that they say will keep it from getting stuck what should i do?should i take the spring out or what?

just be careful with the 700 2-3 kit as it will allow any gear at any speed (yes that means if youre doing 100 mph and go for low gear, it WILL go into low gear). so, a bit of precaution should be excersized with that kit...

84chevyc10 yeah id like to do the transgo kit while i have the vavle body off id like to still have the man and auto so if i just put it in drive would it still shift auto?

SSedan64 Normal or full Man.
The other 2 Kits are available at Trans Supply Shops.
Manually shifting with a Column Shifter can be difficult, easier to mishift.

84chevyc10 on my truck the shifter read (p) (r) (n) (over drive) (d) (2) (1) if i shifted from 1 to 4 would i shift 1 2 d over drive?and how much would that kit cost?thanks

SSedan64 You could add a Shift kit for firmer shifts and manual control.
