matts37chev I have been gone so long I had to reread this thread!!!
You guys have been doing some good work while I have been off doing other stuff.
As you can imagine, this new 38 will have me back in here alot.
One of the reasons I bought the 38 was to help with some inspiration for my 37.
I will get back to you later.
Matt.

Hey Matt, WOW, that looks like a nice ride. Need more info and pics, for sure, of that chassis! What engine? It looks good from here, you drove home, right? Little spit and polish?

Still wrenching on mine, but making progress. All body work is done and rollback took the body to paint shop last week. I've been completing the build on the chassis and drive train and its close to done. Working on getting the computer tune on the LT4 engine. Pretty steep learning curve for this computer tuning, but gaining on it.

Too Many Projects The top hat frame is OK, bottom plate tends to get rusty in places but it can be easily patched with flat stock.

Plenty of aftermarket parts to upgrade them too.

I have the original frame under my '38 with small block, 200r4 and Nova rear axle.

Pics of the new car are obligatory....

Its the 2x4 perimeter chassis, and that's so nice when compared to some of the old nova front clip cars you see every where.
The frame is my only disappointment with my 37, I am sure it will be fine, but I wish it was c - channel.

It was a real nice car 10 years ago.
It's a driver, not a show piece, and the old owner drove it a lot.
Which is what I plan on doing.

I just told the guy I would take it, too much money, but I want it.
The main reason is that it has a Art Morrison chassis.

So, what is a "lot of money" and how much work could it need ? Looks like it's ready to hit the toad and tour...

I drove my '38 coupe down to Nashville in May for the Goodguys Nats. I met 2 other members from that area, John and his son in law, Tim. I enjoyed the show and getting to meet them in person. The only drawback was the weather. They were having unseasonably cool temps, while back here in MN, the weather was great. My wife reminded me of that when I would call in the evening and tell her it was a bit "chilly"...

Welcome !!!

Best way to post pics is to have them on a host site. I use Photobucket Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing Once you have them loaded on there, you copy and paste the link on here. By using the Forum option of the link, the photo comes up live, rather than a link we need to click on.

I don't think the '38 trucks had headlight stands. I know the cars didn't and I looked at a pair of truck shells once and I thought they bolted directly to the grille shell also...
