The body hasn't undergone any mounting work yet. A steel Brookeville body sure would look nice.
Dang, I was hoping no one had thought of that...

If he decides not too, I can donate an engine bay for that Bill Mitchell big block...

I had been into vintage rods for a while at the time he bought it. I told him I would invest my money in a steel car instead, then I dropped it. I knew he was getting sucked into the car, and it was a "good deal". I think he was more into putting brand new stuff together out of a box, than getting a steel car. I don't really want to badmouth his decision, but I saw something like this coming a mile away after reading about the Street Beast deal occasionally online. Hope he can figure something out before all the wind blows out of his sails.
Progress so far for kicks: Hope it doesn't look like this 10 years from now.

I can only put the word out, but I'm pretty sure someone's not going to just have this particular door laying in their shed that isn't spoken for, lol. That's a slim possibility if he were building a steel car.
Anyway, I put it to him like that, and hope that he senses the urgency that he is in - this isn't the time to be holding out for a bargain. Buying that car in the first place was a risky move, now, he's in a real crappy corner over it.

Put "wanted" ads on craigslist in all the major cities in a 4-500 mile radius of your locale and see what happens...if no response, keep moving out...

I've driven 1300 miles for a car that I wanted, so distance is only what you limit yourself to. But then I've been called "unusual" in that regard...

I don't think I would have it shipped. If it gets damaged/destroyed, you're right back where you started with 1 less part available...

Apparently facebook has a large buy/sell/trade community too, if you do the face thing.

Good luck with the search and may the force be with you.

That's not good, not all. So if a deer or whatever wipes out the door, ins. would have to total it since there wouldn't be a replacement part.... I guess I would be testing out how good Grundy really is.....

Pete did a number of videos on building the Street Beast. They may have some leads as to where you could find another door. Maybe someone else can chime in on this thread with some suggestions.
