Your '75 engine- even if an optional "high performance" engine- will have much the same- if not identical- internal parts as a base 350 SBC engine from the same years. The cam and possibly cylinder heads and intake may be different, and the performance engines mostly had 4-bolt mains, but for the most part the engines were much the same regardless of HP/TQ (large chamber "smog" heads, hydraulic cams, cast pistons and crank).

The sad truth is the early smog era engines were weak, power-wise, from the factory. But once rebuilt to performance specs, they're as good as any 2-piece rear main seal type engine.

lmar1171 Thanks DoubleVision 15b474835 as you prob seen this is the remix to another post.I have been told 1=chevy 5= 1975 b=balt plant but after reading up on the first gen chevy 350 1975 give poss for the ZQ3 or L48 and so on. 3970010 block was used alot told this came out of a vette?????THANKS

Engine #3970010////15b474835////So i know this is a 350 chevy 1975 but how do i find out if its a L48 or ZQ3 or something else.
