Pipe sizes are measured according to the inside diameter of the pipe(so proper flow can be calculated to achieve the desired flow), so the thread size will always be larger than the pipe size.

GM used at least 2 different size holes over the years, as mentioned above yours sound like they are 1/4 NPT

Silver Surfer Those holes are for the temp sensor, not coolant drain plugs. The drain plugs are on the block underneath the heads.

dave350v8 Hi, procomp heads(sorry couldn`t afford anything else) I would imagine the same as edelbrock heads possibly. The i.d with a vernier is .580 thou

Hi Guys
Does anyone know the thread size of the head drain plugs,they are smaller than the gm head plugs
