vinniekq2 CR is a small part of an engine build.I would stay under 11 for the 94 octane gas that I can buy.Intake runner size really depends on HP you need/want and what you call good manners if it matters? I use 227 cc intake runners and it drives good. I also use a medium solid roller and 950 cfm carb.434 cubes...for me

Years ago I built a 383, 9.5 compression, mechanical roller cam 240/250 duration, Victor Jr. with a 750 Speed Demon. I went with the iron head Motown 220's. The higher the duration the bigger the heads. If it's a street only car I would use the 195's.
