ive recently put together a 355 with some 305 heads edlebrock rpm preformer cam intake and 750 carb its in a 2wd 86 chevy shortbox with a 700r4 tranny....im thinking i wanna change the rear gears but completely clueless on which way to go...i want fast take offs from the stop light and what not...the truck is basically a stop light chaser...hints tips tricks?
The 3.42 works well with the 3.06 first gear in the 700R4. The 3.73 would also be all right, but I wouldn''t go any farther than that.
