chuck M Ok so i just talked to a trans shop and I think we figured it out. I have heard of people taking the springs out behind the vacumm module so when i saw nothing there when i had the pan off last night I didn't think much of it. What i didn't pay attention to was that there was no valve there either. Stupid mistake on my part but thats what you get when you are inexperienced as I'am. I have a valve on the way and am crossing my fingers. Love learning the hard way. I will repost once i have installed the vacuum module valve.

chuck M Ok guys i installed the transgo kit and it changed absolutely nothing. I am stumped. Detent is set properly and still no downshift. still shifts at the same point no matter if im just easing on the throttle or wot. Driving me nuts. Any ideas?

joshp83 good luck the purpose of the springs is to provide smother shifts

chuck M Yeah the 1-2 acumulater spring in the side of the case is already out and i was going to take out the 2-3 in the valve body as well. I didnt know that the spring in the 2-3 in the valve body could be left out on the first go around. i can definetly tell a difference between 1-2 shift firmness from 2-3 because that spring is not there. I feel alot more confident this time in taking the valve body off due to research on this site, before i relied on my buddies knowledge which when i asked "what does this do " he replied "I dont know". this forum is awesome. Thank you

joshp83 couple things to do while apart remove the gov filter it a small thimble at the rear of the case under the seperator plate if your wwanting firmer shifts remove the spring in the valve body under the pliston held on with a e clip and the spring in the side of the case combined with the kit that makes a 350 work great

chuck M Thank you very much for your responses. I ordered the shift kit and will check the separator gaskets. I will have another chance at the gaskets if they are in fact backwards with this kit. As soon as the kit comes in i will post my findings. Thanks guys

Crosley Is it possible you installed the valve body - separator gaskets backwards?

T-350 problems

Hello, Was wondering if anybody could shed light on this problem i'm having with my th350. Just rebuilt the trans it's a non lockup. Installed a new vac modulator. Truck drives and shifts but it shifts really early at low speeds. I turned the screw in inside the end of the vac mod and not much if anything happened. I then removed one spring from the governor and test drove. It shifted later so i think im going to get a governor kit from B&M to tune the shifts where i want them. Finally to my prob, i installed a new detent cable and adjusted it properly with my foot on the pedal at wot. The cable is pulling correctly but the trans wont downshift at any speed at wot. I even went as far as to pull the cable up through a hole in the floor and pulled it by hand while driving and nothing. the valve was free in the valve body when i just had it off and i can feel it open and close when i pull the cable. LOST
