I am thinking there needs to be a "come on man" thread dedicated to showcase the oddest most ridiculous rides (OK so beauty is in the eye of the beholder),,,,

This baby cost more than 300K to build and is a vette with possibly the ugliest body style attached,,,come on man!

Boy does that bring back memories, my first full time job was working for my sister in her body shop in 77. She had a detail shop as well and did all the work for a huge local Dodge dealer, I saw them all! Dodge did a bunch of those sort of cars and trucks.

Lil Red Express...

They even had a Dodge Dart or Aspen or something that had a fake Carson top and lake pipes with white walls and chrome reversed wheels! I can't for the life of me remember the name so I can't find a photo on line.

*quietly* I liked the Lil Red Express when I was a kid. They even had a black one I think it was "Midnight Express" But dang it thats not the first 'Muscle Truck' (LRE was faster than corvettes back then)
There was a truck in the 60s (D100 based I'd guess) called (ready?) "THE DUDE" and the pitch-man for THE DUDE was not some city-boy race car driver or athlete it was.....the incomparable DON KNOTTS!
My net-nanny at work isn't letting me out to find pictures though

I think Lee Iacoca was a genius. Chrysler was in trouble when he took over and what did he do? Simple, take the Volarie or Aspen, put in a fluffy interior, a 1/2 vinyl roof and a little more bling and what do you call it? The 5th Avenue was born. How about the Chrysler New Yorker, same treatment on a K-Car frame. Pure genius and Chrysler is still here in large part because of it.

Don Knotts, now there is a tough ambre'. What were they thinking? the truck that will make you pee yourself you will laugh so hard!

My father in law has one of those trucks on the farm, just half of it, its a trailer now. The sheet metal is made from 16 gage steel I think, what a tank, and the emblem on the side is still cool!

Seriously entertaining! I have to say I love that damn Plymouth! It is brilliantly done! What a master at the craft the builder is, amazing actually. It looks like what they would have built in the styling studio at Chrysler and is very well exactly what that is. It is a work of art in my opinion.

And that just goes to show you, what one man thinks is junk is another mans art. There have been a lot of works of art that were first frowned on. Who knows, maybe that 59 Cad double decker will be loved by all in the future........nope, sorry, it 's still crap. :D
