No doubt about that, I was a sophomore in high school and I might play a lot of music but I always come back to Buddy. And no the levee's not dry and the music didn't die and this tells it a lot better.

wretched ratchet Russ, I was a Senior in HS and I"ll never forget the feeling I had when I entered the halls. There were small groups of kids standing around everywhere and some of the girls were crying. When I asked one of my friends what everyone was so upset about, he told me that Holly, Jape and Ritchie had been killed in a plane crash. I don't remember the rest of the day, only driving home and listening to my friend on the Local AM Station play their uninterrupted music over the airwaves and that's when it hit me and I had to pull over to the side of the road. Three Rock and Roll heroes gone in a flash - WOW.

And you left out Waylon amongst others and they were all worth their weight in Gold.

I agree, em. I'm kind of partial to all of the Drifters hits.

MARTINSR You know the shame is that those early stars got ripped off all the time. They could do a song like this and the manager would rip them off putting his name on the record as the writer or co-writer and get a bunch of the money the ARTIST deserved. Norman Petty did this with Buddy Holly. There were lots of legendary artists who got pennies for songs that are pieces of American pop history, HUGE songs.

So sad they didn't live out their lives like they could have if not for the greedy thieves who ripped them off.
