|hcompton||Many of the performance cars have large pans but some like corvette have very flat oil pan. Many pontiacs shipped with the engines almost agaisnt the firewall and the engines very low in the frame but this was done for handling. Not sure how much room you have but usally your into custom sheet metal work to restore the stock looking inner fender wells if they need to be reshaped.|

Can anyone refer me to a web sit or sites that have the actual dimensions of engines with or without their equipment on them. I am looking for all the specs to help chose the right engine for my Desoto. Planned on a 5.7l but that might not work. The frame on this onehas two pieces that curve inward in the engine bay area. All the photos or cars I have looked at with big engines have had to remove the inner fender wells. To me that just don't look right. I want a nice finished compartment even if it means going to a small v-6.
