|ASE Doc||Hello Malc, Good to see a fellow 3rd gen owner. One way to remove some of the stress from the rear trans mount is to switch to a torque arm and cross member assembly from someone like Spohn or UMI. They move the front torque arm connection point from the rear of the trans to the crossmember itself. I guess it's a big improvement in launch as well. Plan on doing this myself once I get my new trans built.|

I should have inspected it everytime I was under the car.

Ooo I see.
If the Camaro is a 3rd or 4th generation, the trans mount takes the brunt of the load from the 'torque arm' too. Double Whammy!

TH700R4 Trans Mount Abuse
Over the last two years Iīve had to raise the motor in my Camaro,
new timing chain and cover, new headers on, later off to paint,
oil pump twice.
Everytime I unbolted the front engine mounts and jacked the motor up I never gave the rear mount under the trans a thought.
Hereīs what I found after hearing clunking noises in the corners.
