wretched ratchet One more cute tidbit about that song is that when I was in High School the boys in FFA (Future Farmer's of America) made up a parody from it. I can't remember all the crazy lyrics they used.but the first line was "Running BOAR loved little white SOW" - - - - it was crazy funny as I remember.

wretched ratchet Hey Russ, if I may offer some Running Bear trivia, you might be interested in knowing that J. P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) wrote that song, it was recorded in a Studio in Beaumont, Texas and Jape and George Jones (The Possum) sang the Indian chats and war cries on the recording. Rumor is that Huey Meaux was one of the Indian chanters but I can't verify that.

Now you know the rest of the story.

Thanks for that.
