wretched ratchet I tell you what, Chief, those "Cats" are the real deal and the lead singer/picker and dog house bass have definitely done their homework. That's as good a Vintage Rockabilly that you could ask for. KUDOS for da Wise Guys

evolvo She's still very talented and I think a little prescient. She wrote this almost thirty years ago:

Joni Mitchell - Dog Eat Dog (Live at Farm Aid 1985) - YouTube

Dog Eat Dog
by Joni Mitchell

Dog Eat Dog
It's dog eat dog
I'm just waking up
The dove is in the dungeon
And the white washed hawks
pedal hate and call it love
Dog Eat Dog
Holy hope in the hands of
Snakebite evangelists and racketeers
And big wig financiers

Dog Eat Dog
On prime time crime the victim begs
Money is the road to justice
and power walks it on crooked legs
Prime Time Crime
Holy hope in the hands of
Snakebite evangelists and racketeers
and big wig financiers

Where the wealth's displayed
Thieves and sycophants parade
And where it's made
the slaves will be taken
Some are treated well
In these games of buy and sell
And some like poor beast
Are burdened down to breaking

Dog Eat Dog
It's dog eat dog ain't it Flim Flam man
Dog eat dog you can lie cheat skim scam
Beat' em any way you can
Dog eat Dog
You'll do well in this land of
Snakebite evangelists and racketeers
You could get to be
a big wig financier

Land of snap decisions
Land of short attention spans
Nothing is savored
Long enough to really understand
In every culture in decline
The watchful ones among the slaves
Know all that is genuine will be
Scorned and conned and cast away

Dog eat dog
People looking seeing nothing
Dog eat dog
People listening hearing nothing
Dog eat dog
People lusting loving nothing
Dog eat dog
People stroking touching nothing
Dog eat dog
Knowing nothing
Dog eat dog

I looked and couldn't find anything linking her and Morrison, she did squeeze James Taylor at one time.

WR, I'm still waiting patiently!

Ah yes, Miss Joni was quite a talent. Wasn't she Jim Morrison's main squeeze for a while also? I'll be back later today to stream some more of that concert. (between you and I, I'm still looking for that damned CD so don't give up)

hahahaha.. well as a 7 y/o in 77, the radio was sad, and mom and dad were try'n to be hip. and that disco thing..
dad's 8 tracks went from chic to mamas and papa's, 3 dog night, and eagles,.
the 1980 at ten was a big a year for music as many others... acdc came out with back n black, and journey, and joan jett, etc was big. along with Fleetwood mac, blondie, pat benatar, billy squire, van halen, didn't really hear rock n roll other than elvis and the beatles until 79 as the family across the street, had a son 2 years older than I that was a Kiss freak, not fan ,freak.. it was all kiss all the time lol.. I joined a bowling league and it was all over, first time I heard Eddie van halen, that was it.. wanna guess what I asked for for x-mas... and the rest is history.. still like some funk, and late 70's and 80's dance music.. but nothing drives me like good guitar driven tunes... and in the 80's hair bands and metal was it.. as the old guards were getting lame, the stones, albums sucked after you heard the older stuff,, aerosmith was in a funk, foghat was all but dead.. the shining spot was the kinks and their early 80's album give the people what they want.. Even the 90's metal the guitar work is killer, getting past the singer with marbles in his mouth is very hard tho..
never liked the beatles like most do.. I like a few songs.. but not a huge fan, same with stones, and to so degree led zep.. but I think a lot of that has to do with the way the albums were recorded, much of it sounded like crap.. they didn't have that "close your eyes and imagine you are there feel" maybe I was just very picky, but some albums jump off the platter, and others well.. lol
sadly todays music because of the lack of record companies and lables, and the advent of compressed music.. we are back to albums sounding like crap... In an interview Joe Satriani said it's painfull to find engineers that know how to make a recording with any db raise... or db punch , or some headroom.. for that live feel.. of the crash of the high hat, or the guitar coming in.. it's all just flat.. and that just sucks
