Toss the rubbers. They always shift.

|NEW INTERIORS||The only place I use silicone when replacing a intake gasket is.. The four corners where they meet the rubber's front and back.. I NEVER use the rubbers,, Run a bead of silicone on the front and back where the rubbers go.. Work's much better then using the rubbers..|

I am replacing the intake manifold gasket on a 327 cid Chevy. Do I need to put any kind of silicone on the gasket frist? When I removed the old one I am not sure if there was any on it or I just was scraping off old gasket? THANKS GOWSER.
