Dave E Shank 396: I have a 350 that wanted to run hot at idle. I went to an aluminum radiator and that was a big improvement. But still wanted to creep up there. I went to the additive FOURTY BELOW and a twenty two pound cap and another big improvement. I am running a mechanical fan and electric in front. Another thing I found is a lot of temperature gauges are not overly accurate. The higher rated cap and 40 below are a cheap solution that will give improvement. Dave E Shank

4 Jaw Chuck Sounds like to much intial timing might be causing your high temp. 210 is not out of line for an economy car but if you have a 160 thermostat and it is running that hot then you could have some problems. If the hot start problem is a hot soaked starter motor then I would not worry about it (typical Chevy problem).
