The main thing is that there be unobstructed airflow in and out. The closer it's placed to a surface, the less potential airflow it'll have. Keep it away from the exhaust and you'll be fine.

I have used them before, With no problems at all... I think I had them on about ten cars I had..
If your going to use one.. Get the one with both fittings on one end... That way you don't have to have the extra hose it takes to run to the back side.. Much easier..

|dwwl||I have one of those single pass round 24 inch coolers that is pickied up new at a swap meet for ten bucks and haven't enstalled it yet. Have you ever used one of those. Looks like the double pass one someone posted here. Just got my project completed and thoght i'd get that done before warm weather gets here. Maybe i should use a dilfferent tpye.|

I think the thermostat is a good idea - you don't need to keep the trannie cold. The stacked plate style have more cooling capacity than the finned tube style.|

I run a trans cooler like this one..In all my cars.. Mounted under the car or truck right inside the frame.. Ran these for years with no problems..
If you have one with a fan that makes it even better.. You can run it anywheres under your truck you want...Just make sure you have it where the fan can push air though it.. Keep it away from the exhaust as much as you can.. You should be OK..

Where to put trans cooler?
On my 1952 GMC restromod I do not have room behind the front grille for a trans cooler. So I picked up a cooler with it's own fan but I still do not where to put it. Does anybody have any experience with such a problem? Will the fan make up for being out of the air current like up under the bed? Will I need a thermostat to control the fan? Thanks.
