I moved this thread to suspension forum. Not many members read the introduction forum since it is for non-tech items

56 Chevy rearend swap with 96 corvette rear

I have a 56 chevy wagon already has a nova or Camaro front clip attached, I bought a 96 corvette rearend and transmission. I am getting ready to do the swap looks like the old rear end was 60" and the corvette is also 60".
I have never seen it done but we are getting ready to weld brackets for the torsion bar, 4 link, sway bar, and shock mounts. Has anyone had any experience doing this? It is going to be different in that we are going from a unibody to the original frame. Am I crazy it seems like it should work, I know its radical for a wagon but it will be totally custom and one of kind.
Any rodders have any advice?
