Serial no. for old Chevy truck engine

Check out this picture of a Chevy 6 cylinder it will show you where the block casting number and date code is. http://stoveboltengineco.com/wordpre...NUMBER_PIC.jpg The head should have a 7 digit casting number on it same for the block.

Serial no on a 50 Chevy pick-up engine

I still cannot determine what engine is in this truck or if it is a 216 or 235 cu in
The number by the dipstick is in the earlier note. The number on the block is B39-913 and below it is 241-570. I took the valve cover off and there are 2 numbers on the head: CON13 and H104
Any info to determine what size and vintage engine this is would be appreciated
Thanks! Neal

killeratrod I found noting with those numbers also, check buy the dizzy or take the valve cover off and check the head numbers out. this may help you get a closer idea of what you have.. also check the oil pan for 235 this will stand out on the pan, as you might not have a 216.

Serial no. for old Chevy truck engine

I bought a 1950 Chevy pu truck that is not running. The serial no on the engine that I located next to the oil dipstick reads; 0945635F547. According to the Internet on 216 cu in Chevy engines the motor should start with 2 or 3 letters before the numbers. Can anyone help on the engine cu in size and year as I need parts for it....thanks!
