All Chevy V6/V8 engines with a one-piece rear seal are internally balanced. Many people think the engine is externally balanced because the flex plate used on those engines has a counter weight. The counter weight was placed on the flex plate in order to compensate for the lack of a counter weight on the one-piece seal rear main flange. You must use a counter-weighted flex plate on crankshafts having a one-piece rear seal because the crankshaft flange bolt pattern is different from the flex -plates that do not have a counter-weight. That feature keeps people from using the wrong flex-plate.

As long as it's a '95 model year and not a '95 casting date, you're good to go w/the 2111 or an OEM cast iron Q-jet intake.

Now, heads w/a '95 casting date might still be OK, but it could also be a '96 production, and that would make it a "true" Vortec head. The Vortec head takes a totally different intake than the '95-back model year heads.

BOBCRMAN@aol.com 4.3's can be a real problem with aftermkt intakes. From 1995 on there are several different intake/head configurations. The bolts don't line up.
