Has anyone worked a setup like this? I've got it all laid out, but I don't want to proceed until I have all my ducks in a row. The wiring, while time consuming, is not impossible. I am just trying to wrap my head around itbefore I dive in.
Which is the best PCM to work with or does it matter? I intend to get the L67 from a 98-03 car.
Are the harnesses all the same for those years even between the different GM makes that used the engine?
Does anyone have any diagrams on wiring the 4L60E into the pcm?
I'm going to replace my original speedometer with one that will talk to the pcm. Do I just need to provide my rear end ratio and tire size to program the pcm so it will read accurately?
I was thinking of grabbing additional pieces of the wiring from the donor car including fuse and relay panels to make my wiring simpler. Does this make sense or is it overkill? Is it just a matter of supplying fused power and ground to the pcm and fuel pump/relay?
What sensors/connections do I have to maintain off the engine harness? This is a list I grabbed off another site. Not even sure it's accurate.
-Injectors
-square coil plug per side
-Throttle position sensor TPS
-Idle Air Control Valve IAC
-Cam position sensor (SBC distributor area)
-Crank position sensor (right above sensor)
-Knock sensor plug (at rear near Cam sensor, wires lead under intake)
-Intake air sensor IAT (install this sensor in air intake tube)
-Mass Airflow Sensor MAF
-Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor MAP (at rear of intake)
-02 sensor for each side
-Temp sensor for PCM, can be located in either head if needed
Am I missing any?
Thanks
Mike
