mrhp Yes thats the number. I have read their info and even have the manuel, but as we all know it never tells the whole story. I would like to talk to someone with real world experience using these carbs in a blown application. I am sure there are many tricks to be learned, and I do not want to learn the hard way on a fresh engine.

mrhp My thought was it would be easier to control/tune/one carb at cruise rather than use both to cruise on due to it would be splitting up the cfm to both carbs at low speeds. I would think low airspeed split up between both carbs may cause a concern. Maybe not.

xxllmm4 I have never seen anyone run progressive linkage with Predators. Basically they work off the air demand of the engine so there would be no benefit that I can see.

68NovaSS Straight linkage was JMO, you'll find lots of opinions I'm sure. I just wouldn't consider it on my bucket tunnel ram BB or the Nova 8-71 motor, even if it felt like it ran ok. On the other hand, I've had two '65 GTO's with progressive 3x2's, OEM...however, the primary carb is centered...

mrhp My dual quad stroker ran o.k. with progressive linkage but better with straight linkage. Many 409 and other engines run progressive linkage with no ill results. I was told the blower helps with fuel distribution and that is why I was considering progressive linkage with the Predators. If the consensus is no then I will not do it. Like I said, Predators in dual form on a blower are new to me. If I wanted the easy route, I would build two Holleys and be done with it. But alas, I have never taken the easy path. Not to mention the Predators look fantastic on top of the 6 71.

68NovaSS You don't want to run progressive linkage on a dual carb setup, blower applications included, fuel distribution is one issue.

mrhp I have run Predators in single form with great success. The only reason it was removed was to meet class requirements, the engine had to make 15 inches of vacuum. The predator would produce 14.5-15 inches, but not steady. It was replaced with a 750 Holley and we made 15-15.5 inches. The performance of the truck stayed the same. I have never used them in a dual set up, progressive linkage, on top of a 6-71 before and am looking for some insight as to the fesability of this along with a beginning set up. Blower motors do not like to be run lean, and I would like to not hurt this new motor.

Custom10 Without getting too far into it, so this VVC principle is that something that changes the diameter of the throat or what? I know nothing of these carbs. Whats going on there? I jusy remeber they were all the rage for a while and they essentially looked like a jack in the box,,,box.

I'd suggest that you poke around on the net and read all you can find about Willard Kendig. He was the originator of the Variable Venturi Carburetor. Articles about Willard will undoubtedly lead you to other articles and others and others. Sooner or later, you will have amassed enough knowledge to be the resident VVC expert. I owned a Kendig VVC many years ago.
