da34guy After using SPI products, you'll never use anything else.
Summit is in the parts biz, not the paint biz as Barry is.

cutthroatkid well I did figure out what I was doing wrong.Improper gun technique..I was going way too fast.I slowed down&got a bit closer Im using my devilbiss flg4.It laid like glass nice&glossy the only problem I had was I got runs. I'm never get runs..I did on the panel I shot. I'm now going to wet sand the whole cab&re shoot the clear. Any tips for the runs?I am going to switch to SPI products because everyone and I mean everyone recommends them.I have there black epoxy primer.I havent got to use it yet as Ive been using summit 2k for the last year&have about 2 gallons left I'm trying to use up.

Old Fool What part number clear did you use - SUM-UP201 or SUM-UP205 or ?

No matter which I suggest you change to an SPI clear, any one of them will give you the wet look, Their Universal clear will make you look like a real pro and the car even better.

SPI production clear is an inexpensive clear that performs like some hi end clears. Cost is $22 a quart ready to spray (rts).

SPI Universal is equal to or better than any other clear on the market anywhere.
It only costs $31.07 a RTS quart.

Did I mention shipping is free to your door and the man who makes the paint gives out his cell number for any tech problems or questions you have, 7 days a week.

Help clear is dull.

Ok so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm spraying summitŪ pure white base&medium clear there is absolutely no gloss to it@all!After wet sand&clear I was able to get minor reflective gloss on a fender but that was it.I'm thinking maybe I'm not getting enough on?I've sprayed from about 7 inches away it seemed to come out like a fine mist. When I sprayed a piece of masking paper it seemed to come out as it should nice cigar pattern no runs but full.
So...what should I do it dosnt look bad just flat dosnt look like there's one drop of clear, you know how clear almost looks like the car has been dipd in it.This dosnt @ all it looks like its base&is slick to the touch but seems there's no clear. Please help.
Please excuse any typos or terseness: this email was sent from my mobile and I have clumsy fingers.
