Actionjk Rear susp.(leaf) should be real close to Mustang,and we used to take the spindles and disc.s off of Granada/Monarchs and put them on Fairlanes/Must./Mavericks,so the knuckles and brakes should be close to Must. also....

77 & 79 Versailles projects

Ditching the V's for a 2 door Monarch would be contrary to the vision I have for these projects and besides I already have the V's. I am interested in your idea for the frame connectors. Do you have any pictures or drawings you could send?
I am interested in lowering the car, stiffening the suspension, and adding adjustability that is why I've been looking at the kits sold by Global West and others.

2 door Merc ?

Find a 2 door mercury monarch Shorter and lighter,, then a pumped 427 stroker SBF, SWap the lincoln front clip, Use the 9 in Disc rear end, the Hydro boost 4 wheel disc really makes them stop. the Versailles I had came with a factory installed sub frame kit. You mighe have to modify to fit the 2 door. Add 1 X 2 Rect tubing under the rockers and tie it into the sub frame. larger sway bars. Use late model Mustang GT brake calipers on the front.

77-79 Versailles projects

I have two Versailles project cars that I want leave the appearance stock (ex. for wheels and tires) but I am planning on modifying the engines ('77 = 351W '79 = 302) and the suspension. I think I have a very good idea for the build on these engines but I am struggling with the suspension mods. I want to make the cars handle well on the street and an occasional outing on a road course. I am not a suspension engineer or anything like it so I have been looking at vendors such as Hotchkiss and Global West kits with tubular control arms, springs...etc. Their catalogs don't list parts for the Versailles but they do for the Maverick, 70-73 Mustang, Torino...etc. Since these cars shared the same architecture I assume that steering and suspension components would interchange. How do I find out what the differences are?
