Restorers Choice Company

I just thought about this and not sure if anyone here knew or purchased clear or primers from Randy Wein, owner of Restorers Choice in case there is, Randy passed away about a month ago.

Randy made clears and primers in Ohio for I would guess last 20 years or so before that was a chemist for one of the majors in Ohio.

Restorers choice

I was sadden to hear about Randy Wean's passing. I have been ordering product from him for years. I have been trying to contact some one for a week or more. I have left messages and still no call back. Has anyone heard if there is going to be anyone taking over for Randy. Not to make lite of his passing but I'm in serious need of product. I know his wife was from Japan and they visited Japan on occasion. I just thought they might be gone. If anyone has information on how to get product, please reply to this thread.

"Restorers Choice" Clearcoat

Has anyone ever heard of "Restorers Choice" clear? I used it at a shop where I used to work 4 or 5 years ago, and can't seem to find it anymore. Supposedly it was made by a paint chemist out of his garage or a small shop, or he had another company mix it to his specs. The reason I ask is because unlike run of the mill production clears, his clear you could literally sand with 600 on a DA the next day and still buff it out. Not only that, but it was hands down the best clear I have ever seen or used. Shine, depth, ease of use, holdout, it even smelled like grapes when sprayed!! Hopefully someone else out there knows more info on if it is still made.

OMT, I understand and appreciate our no advertising rules, but in this case, I think we should allow contact information for Restorer's Choice to be posted for all that have requested the info. How many times have we posted links or provided contact info to members that were looking for specific items/products? Just because a rep for the company provided the info under unusual circumstances, it was solicited by several members and should be allowed. If he will PM me, I will certainly post it and will go to the wall in defense of my right to do so.

As an un-affiliated individual to a company or interest you can post a link in answering or helping the OP with their question. When an individual posts a link or contact information to his or her own business that goes over the line and that is when the post gets edited..

Hope that clears it up for you...

Sam
