you know what? I agree, Id rather use a Q-jet than an Edelbrock anyday....but for performance HOLLEY is the best....on a stricktly street every day driver? go with the Q-jet...(if its a good one)

71 c-10 ^^^ exactly what he said, they are one of the better carbs out there, especially for young-ins like us. They are also pretty easy to work on.

Silver_Camaro I say go with the Q-Jet... Bein that your only 16 your probably in the same financial situation i'm in.. Which is zip, zilch, nada, nothing. The Q-Jet will save you tons in gas money. And will open wide up when you feel like you have some extra gas you don't need..

71 c-10 all quadra jets are pretty much the same, the only thing different between them is the jetting and how far the secondaries open relative to straight up and down, which can be easily fixed by cutting the secondary stop so they open vertical.

Low77 : The q-jet is the best street carb in the world. If for some reason you are not sure of the one you have and you live in the Toronto area I can sell you one off of a Z28-350 or 1/2 Ton 350 Pick-up.

71 c-10 if you dont want the q jet off of the motor home and its manual choke i may know some one who might want it, if your just gona junk it.

Silver_Camaro Low77Ride... You'll get very mixed opinions on this post. It mostly depends on what you want to use your 77 monte for. If you intend on using it as a daily driver with power when you want it.. Then I'd say rebuild the Q-Jet. The small primaries help with fuel economy and the large secondaries give you lots of power when you put it to the floor. From personal experience I can tell you that the Q-Jet is some times VERY dificult to fine tune. But once you get it all working right it does its job VERY VERY well.

rochester quadrajet

I just picked up a rochester quadrajet from my friend. Its previous life was on a 350 out of a 77 motor home. He bought a edelbrock performer 600cfm to replace it. I was wondering if this is a carb worth rebuilding and using it on my 77 monte carlo. But mine has a 4 barrel on it allready (Which is in need of a rebuild i think) because the electric choke sticks on and it take forever to warm up in mild wather. Should i just get rid of the one he gave me? and the one that is on my car, and pick up a edelbrock performer 600cfm also ? help appreciated.
