Want to step up to a roller cheap? Consider using a late model block whether it was a roller or just has provisions for it. I got every part to convert a late model block to a hyd roller $130 including a LT1 vette cam from Ebay. $50 for a good used LT1 cam and $80 for good used lifters, pushrods, cam plate, and spider. Bought the whole late model 350 core for $100 locally.

I was looking at these Howards camshaft 110951-10 or 110951-12

The thing I do not understand, how can a lobe separation of 108 have a good idle while 112 has a rougher idle? Same lift, same Duration. Do I am have it backwards the higher the lobe separation the rougher the idle?

With the pistons I am using I should see around 9.8 10.1 compression. The motor most likely will not see over 6k RPMs. The engine is going in my 1986 El Camino, TH350 transmission 2000 stall, 373 gears. I want something I can take out on the weekends not to radical, still have decent street manors.
What piston part number and manufacturer?
What piston deck height?
What head gasket?
Block been decked? What is block deck height?
What intake manifold manufacturer and part number?
Headers or manifolds?

vinniekq2 do you have any flow figures on the heads?

2000-5800 Fair idle, Street high performance. 2200+ stall, aftermarket intake and headers
start around here and make adjustments for head flow/personal preferance, and maybe change to split patter if the exhaust flow numbers are weak compared to intake side.
