Crosley could be the converter , could be the pump.

Could be the pump having to work hard to build pressure if you have a leak internally.

I can't be much help with out hearing the noise

Tranny noise.....

OK..I know this about a torque conveyor..if its bad the car won't move. If it was a GM trans I would say the front pump is going but on a Ford I don't know. I use Sea Foam from NAPA to help with the simpler trans problems...try some and see if your noise goes will have to drain a quart of fluid off the trans as to not ovetfill your trans. Just loosen the bolts on the tranny pan and drop one end and catch the fluid...the environmental thing...don't ya know!! Don't let the trans fluid drain down into the gravel in your dirveway....

C6 trans noise at idle

Hello Everyone!
Ok here is my problem. I have a 351W tied into a C6 Transmission. I just dropped in a new engine about 2 months ago and everything has been running great until just a few weeks ago. At idle and with the car in drive I get something that sounds like a pumping noise coming from the torque converter area. If I put the car in neutral or if I put it into drive and accelerate the noise goes away. When I first start the car I do not hear it until it warms up. I have never had this problem before and the transmission is about 2 years on a re-build with a shift kit. The car still runs and shifts fine but this kind of thing worries me especially since I have to drive it daily for work and my 38 coupe is far from being done so I would be stranded if it goes on me. Does the torque converter behave like this when it is going bad? Do you think it will get me through the Holidays? Any info would be great,
