a guy i work with was telling me i need to put gylptal in the lifter valley
will this stuff help me out ?
since i have already smoothed the casting

Not sure if this is current thinking or not. The use of any paint coating in the lifter valley is to seal the metal so oil will flow back to the pan more easily and to seal any possible trapped sand or other loose particles so that it will not come loose and end up in the oil pump (or worse). It was originally created for electric motor armatures. You can buy it from Eastwood for one.
