The type of pump you have is designed for race only, not continuous use. I agree with the others, I would not run that pump on a street car. If you really want an electric pump, you would be much better off with a CSI or Meizere. As mentioned above it really isn't worth the extra expense for what little you gain. The Moroso pump does not move much water and if you run that motor continuosly it won't last long.

Thanks for all the input, I bought the car like this and haven't drove it much, it was an all out drag car but I want to make it more street worthy, If you look in my gallery I have a picture of the pump setup I am talking about and it isn't a self contained unit it is the belt driven mechanical pump using an electric motor, so I don't know what it is putting out in gpm's,, I am not sure how bad the overheating would be yet since I have only drove it on the street 2 times and it did get up to 215, which I don't like.

|GoneNova/406||thats the thing about these pumps though, they are suppose to pump more fluid at a stop light so you don't get hot and after you are moving air goes thru your radiator to cool it.that along with the ten h.p. you might save not running a mechanical pump.so if you don't get hot to begin with you're ok.|

|DoubleVision||For the few extra horses it gives it`s not worth it. If you value your engine it`s especially not worth it. It says you live in Bama just as I do, it gets smoking hot here during the summer, and in stop and go traffic a healthy small block gets hot enough with a mechanical water pump. If you are running 11:1 compression and this is a street car then you must be running race gas, since pump gas would detonate itself to death, couple that with a electric pump and it`s asking for it to overheat.|

|GoneNova/406||if you have a normal size radiator and don't have trouble with overheating in the first place you'll be just fine.i have overheating issues.someone sold me a curse and i bought one hoping that it would work but i have a 31x19 dual 1" core radiator and it has so much volume that the drive kit won't keep up as is.i am going to talk to someone at an electric motor shopand se if they can somehow speed my motor up or make or sell me one that will run twice as fast cause i'd still like to use it .the idea of it is solid.i also have a full blown moroso electric water pump but again with the over heat problem the pump only puts out 19 gals. per min..meziere makes one that puts out 55 gpm that would work great for 370.00 and then you still have to buy 200.00 worth of parts so you can reroute you belts.it gets expensive.in the mean time i bought a stewart stage 2 aluminum mechanical pump that with the eletric fans and additives works great and it was only 180.00.if you don't over heat now and don't have a large volume radiator your in there ,it'll work great.|

Moroso Electric water pump ????
Does anyone use the Moroso electric motor that uses a belt and runs the water pump on the street and not have overheating problems? Mine has the larger pulley and runs 2800 rpms at all times. I recently bought this car with this setup and haven't driven it much and was wondering if it will work on the street or will I have go to a fully electric pump to be able to sit in traffic,
BTW it is a 350 small block with a griffin 2 - 1-1/4" row radiator and 11 to 1 motor. Electric fan ,,Just wondering if anyone has used this setup on a street car succesfully
