Hello everybody. I live on the east coast in Connecticut and am currently looking for a project. I would like a model a that I can get for around 2500... I realize it will be rough but I cannot afford anything more than that. If anyone knows of salvage yards near or in Connecticut that would be a great help. Also if anyone lives nearby and has a vehicle they are willing to part with please let me know. Thanks a lot.
Go to your local meets and shows and check on any swap meets in your area...I just looked at a 53 ford f100 with tilt front and all there for 2300 here in my area..Yeah needed a lot of finishing but was a good start..
Thsoe kind of swap meets can be a good source for a project car..
I have a '61 Ranchero with a '90 5.0, Trick Flow
heads cam + a lot more. I'm looking for a little more $$$ than that though, and I am all the way out in California.
With that budget in mind, the most findable vehicles will be 80s Mustangs. If you want something a little different, a high mileage Thunderbird or Lincoln Mark VII might be available also.
At a price of under $2500, you will either have a very high mileage motor that needs attention, or a trashed interior, or a lot of rust, or a combination of the above. Depending on your skills and abilities one of those things may not be that bad.
HEY LAX.
Look at www.hotrodhotline.com under " Car Bazaar" they have a section for Project Cars For Sale.... GOOD LUCK.. DAVE
