Stinkin_V8 I can't answer your question, but have you thought of an old desktop computer power supply to power it? They have 5 and 12 VDC output. Amperage ratings for those should be on the side of the unit. I think it should more than power your ECM, especially if it's not driving the injectors.

computer amps

Can someone tell me aproximately how many amps an engine computer would need to run?

I just bought an engine that would like to convert to a homemade computer system (megasquirt). So want to have a power supply (no car batteries in the house) that I can hook up in my little basement workshop while putzing away on this thing.
