lamothe1 You might graft the front section of the Caprice to the '55 just forward of the firewall. I've seen some tri fives at the car shows that use camero front frames.

Seon I'd keep the original frame. You need to think of resale. Tri-fives are getting harder to come by. Not too many will buy a tri-five with a Caprice frame, however they'll pay good money with all the upgrades on a stock frame...i.e. dropped spindles, power disc brakes, 605 steering, air bags...the list goes on.

55 frame swap

I have a 55 chevy 2 dr post and have access to a 79 caprice classic frame w/ good power steering and disc brakes. the wheelbase is the same but the frame rail width is different. does anybody know if this swap is possible, or does anyone have any other suggestions. i know i could put all these things on my frame but it would be a lot cheaper and simpler to do an entire frame swap. also does anyone have any advice on the cheapest place to get some replacement metal for my car. i need rockers and a few other pieces.
