Siggy_Freud Disconnecting the battery rarely will reset a code on an OBD2 type computer system. Go get the code scanned for free at autozone. Make sure your plug wire didn't burn or that other wires havent fallen off causing a constant misfire.

advanced design I doubt it will fix itself. The constant on SES light indicates a current problem. If it was mine I would take it to the Chevy dealer to check out.

Mightymouse Will this fix itself and eventually go off? and should i disconnect the batterie so it resets the computer??

advanced design The unfiring cylinder has dumped unburned fuel into the catalytic converter causing the odor. The light is probably indicating a catalytic converter efficiency (or lack there of) problem.
