1BAD80 I suggest that you go to Hollys site and read up on your carb. Also the Knowledge Base has a lot of info.If it's spitting gas it could be the float level, blowen power valve, to much gas pump pressure,sticking float, or crud in the needle jet.

MI2600 I think he's talking about some of the Holleys have a check valve on top of the front fuel bowl. If I remember the valve is actuated by a lever that is in contact with the driver's side linkage. It is slightly open when you're at idle and closes when you go off idle. I don't know exactly what it's supposed to do. I had a carb rebuilt by a local speed shop and they essentially eliminated it and plugged the hole.

MuscleTruck Yep. That's a great carb for a mild SB. It'll give you sufficient power and good economy. You'll want to make sure you spend A LOT of time just simply adjusting your idle mixture screws to make it crisp. Also, you'll want to play around until you find the exacty vacuum secondary spring you need. Don't forget having the right squirter is necessary too.

I have one on my truck. It's been a good carb. Mine was new, but make sure you get a good rebuild on yours. Don't let anyone tell you it's not any good for a mild street setup.

I can't answer you last question. I'm familiar with this style of carb having a transfer tube, and ONE inlet. Hmmm....

I recently purchased a used HOLLEY 600 CFM MODEL 4160 CARBURETOR. This style of carb is new to me, I have been spolied with DPP over the years. Is this carb any good for a mild SB Chev?
I was also wondering why there were 2 fuel lines outlets and is that some sort of check valve on the top?

When I stuck it on the car, it spit up through the check valve?
