302 Z28 Does your transmission have any leaks that you have been ignoring? The trans on my son's 94 Ranger gave up the ghost one day when he was headed home from college for the weekend. I had known it was leaking for some time and just ignored it. I bought a used trans from a salvage yard from a 97 Ranger for $600. Spent almost the entire weekend on my back in the garage. I have never had so much trouble pulling a standard trans in my life.

It sounds as if your trans is low on juice and it's on it's way out.

93 Ford Ranger Manual Transmission problems

I'm new to this. My truck will not shift into any gear. It has been making a high pitch noise as i accelerate from gear to gear the last couple of weeks. Yesterday i was stopped at a light and put it in gear and it stalled. I quickly realized that if i left it in neutral it was very slowly drivable ( like it was stuck in 3/4 gear). I've been reading about a possible shift gear linkage problem. Does this sound about right? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
