Keith Boisvert Are you positive about the overall length of the tranny? Depends on the tail shaft. Some are longer than others.

WoodsEdge If you're saying it only goes in 3/4" with weight on all 4 wheels, the answer is yes its too short. It should go in until its about an inch from bottoming out.

Hi, I have a heavily modified 1959 chevy apache truck. It has a small block 350 and I just put in a new Jegs th350 transmisssion. I had the drive shaft balanced and new u-joints put in. When I put the drive shaft back on, I noticed that the slip yoke only goes into the transmisson about 3/4". It seems like it should go in a little further, but I'm not sure? The previous transmission was also a th350 and the dimensions are the same. I test drove it and it seems to work fine, but I would hate to mess up the new trans I put in...
