I imagine the mechanisms are different (don't know) than for a 54 but, I just bought a set of the large Bear Claws to put on my panel truck. It'll be a couple of weeks before I'm ready to put them on. Once I do, I'll have the write up in my Journal.
I'll take a shot of my current latches tomorrow and you can see if they're the same.
Took a shot of the door and held the door frame plate in place.
Is this your set up?
No. The 41 has latches that resemble interior door latches in your house. Probably the best reason to replace them. One good pop in an accident will spread the door opening and then the door flies open. The bear claws hold the door both closed and to the pillar. Much safer. I will be interested in seeing your conversion. No one out there ever do a 41 - 48 Chevy car?
I'll post them on this thread when I get one done.
good luck,
Jon
