|broaddua||Thanks for the suggestion. I saw the Street Rodder article. It has lots of interesting info on how to identify the different years and stuff, but little technical information - like disassembly. Seems the outer tube will pull off the internal drive shaft if I want to do that, but I'm trying to figure out how to remove the shaft from the pinion.|

Go to the magazine stand and look at the latest issue of Street Rodder Magazine. It has a very informative article about Ford Banjo rear ends. Lots of photos.

early ford torque tube
Anyone know how to remove the torque tube from a '40 ford banjo rear end? I have the outer tube disconnected but need to know how to remove the internal drive shaft from the pinion gear. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
