badA31 327, Do you have an adjustable vaccuum modulator on your trans? You will get an early shift if the adjustment is wrong.

Dave E Shank Hey Chevelle: I had that same problem on a TH 350 that I had put a shift kit in. As soon as you would take off it would up shift before building RPM. It would also hunt when driving about thirty MPH. I found out that when we installed the shift kit on of the check balls had moved into another circuit and was blocking fluid flow. I bought a Transco kit from Sumitt Racing and it cured the problem. GOOD LUCK DAVE SHANK

Auto shifting to quick!

I have a 69 chevelle with a th350, when i have it in drive(3rd) and floor it it shifts way to fast out of first, it doesnt go past 3 grand. it takes off then shifts and the rpms arent up enough and so 2nd starts to early and it slows down then starts gainin speed. but if i have it in 2nd it will go to 4 or 5 grand in first then shift. does anyone have a clue what is the problem. is it my kick down or something in my transmission?
