The 84 trans fits the diesel only...
The stick fits the 460...
If you want an automatic you have to rebuild the 84 trans with a 460 trans case

|FourSpeed460||The 84 that has the C-6 in it was parked about 1993 could the trans be worn out bad enough that it needs rebuilding? My other option is the T-19 that is in the donor vehicle.|

Might be, but you HAVE to disassemble trasn to get it. Salvage yard C6 from 460 might be more than a little tired.
Rebuilt trans and stock type converter should $500-$600....
Think about it.
Installing tired trans to just pull it out later...where is the wisdom??

They look the same, but you will need a 460 case for the C6.
The engine dowel holes are way different and the bolt holes are not in the same location.
Get the trans rebuilt and recased for the 460. Most trans shops will be happy to get a good diesel case in return for the 460 case...

I am putting a big block 460 in a 84 3/4 ton pickup that previously had a diesel in it. My question is will the C-6 that has the bellhousing for a diesel bolt up to the 460? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bryant
