|Rhansen||10 deg. initial and 18 mech. will only give 28 at WOT. I'm sure your motor could handle 36 (or more) at WOT. This would mean setting initial at 18 (unless your mechanical adv. is adjustable) and having up to 46 while cruising. I used to run 16 initial with 20 mech and 10 vac on a mild SBC (~285 hp) no problems. I ran the vac adv on full manifold instead of ported so it would see 26 deg. at idle. It saw better mpg and eliminated a "flat spot" in the throttle transition switching from the ported source to full manifold vac.|

chevy 350 timing
I finally got rid of all the gremlins and am ready to set things right.The drivetrain consists of a rear end/with approx. 3.90 gears;a 350 turbo trans.The engine consists of a 260 h.p. g.m. goodwrench longblock,w/a performer manifold;a 600 holley carb/with jets changed from #64 to#62;autolite 52 plugs,accel super stock suppression 8mm wires, and an accel electronic distributor set at 10 degrees initial,10 degrees in an adjustable vac,and 18 degrees mechanical for a total of 38 degrees,and an accel coil specifically for the dist.Any suggestions for a timing curve would be appreciated.
