|65Stanger||This is good news. =) I need to drive it still to school and everything, but I don't have all the money I need to rebuild the tranny. Thanks for your help! I will probably get it rebuilt or at least get new seals installed 'cause I think it's leaking a bit. A rebuild might be best, since I just put a new remanufactured engine and a new alternator and a new radiator... about as many new things as possible, and I want it to be as close to "just came off the lot" as a 40 year old car can be =)))|

Noise diagnosis over the internet. WOW.
Drop the pan and replace the filter/screen. Do not over tighten the bolts. 75 in-lbs on 5/16"-head bolts, 10 ft-lbs on 1/4" thread bolt.
If noise is still there, get ready for a trans. Could be converter or pump whine. Either affects the other. Like oil and filter in an engine. Change both of them.
The C4 pump is notorious for wearing under load and once worn will cause RPM sensitve noise.
Pray the filter is plugged or torn....

Diagnosis for C4 Please Help!
So basically, I replaced my vacuum modulator, replaced the hose to the intake manifold, and it shifts great now. Only thing is, once it gets to about 45 mph, regardless of what gear it's in (even in 3rd) it makes a kind of whining noise, it's a loud high pitched noise, and the noise only sounds when I press on the gas pedal. It happens as soon as I press down the pedal like at all, even before the engine starts to make the infamous glugging sound that the 200 L6 3.3L Mustang engine makes (I love that sound). Anyways, what could it be? how can I fix it? Thanks guys. Could this be an engine problem? I will put it in both forums.
