helrazr3 i would agree with taz, check for a broken wire or connector. i had a friend with a blazer and the same thing happened to him after going over a snowbank. the snow pulled the run feed right off the starter, good luck.

taz Have You Crawled underneath, and Looked at the Starter Solenoid? Maybe the Drift pushed Snow up by the Solenoid, and Knocked the main feed to the Wiring Harness loose, off, etc.

Jim Weeks If you are running a ballast resister, it may have jared loose or gone bad. When ever any of my cars acts like it wants to start and then quits when you let off on the switch, it was always the balist resistor. Check it out, let us know what you discover to be the problem.

dmorris1200 Just a guess, but an ignition switch supplies the ignition with 12volts in both the run and start positions. Your ignition may be getting power in the start position but losing it in the run position. Check to make sure you have power to the ignition in the run position. If not could be a fuse, bad connection, bad ignition switch, etc. An electrical schematic should tell you which wires out of the switch should be hot in run. You could always supply the ignition with 12volts with a jumper wire to the battery post and see if she runs.

starter/ignition switch short?

Hopefully one of you electrical gurus can help me out. While its not really a hotrod I've got a 76 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 with a 78 chevy L-82, 350hp vette engine in it. Yesterday while 4x4ing I plowed through a big snowdrift. Just as I blew through it my truck stalled. Now the truck will only stay running when the key is cranked to the start position. Of course the starter is still grinding too. As soon as I let the ignition spring back to the "run" position the truck quits. Its like my ignition run position and ignition starter position are shorted. Any ideas out there? It happened after I jarred the truck but I don't know if thats an issue.
