jajeff22 have you tried the reset button in or behind the passenger side back panel. i know they had that in a 89 . you might have to crawl over but it did the trick for me.

86 Camaro Trunk Lid Motor Stuck!

I have a 1986 Camaro with an electric trunk/window lid...push it down and the motor takes over. You can access this motor easily with the trunk lid open, but my motor is shot (for sure it is the motor). So...the trunk sits closed tight, and someone installed the wrong key tumbler so the actuator doesn't work...only the auto trunk button on the console worked. Now that the motor is shot, nothing works.

Long story made simple: How do you open the lid without power? After crawling around back there, I figured I'd ask before cutting things.
