|polkat||There are different lengths. The truck C4 has an output shaft about 6" or 7" shorter then the car C4's, and yokes for the truck C4 are bolt-on and may indeed be a different spline setup. Was your vehicle originally running a C4? If it was running a manual 3 speed, it won't fit.|

Just guessing but earlier C-4s were for 289/302s. Later ones got into 351 Ws so they might be larger.
I don't exactly know for sure, but I am going to find out just for curiousity sake.

Different size output shaft on c4?
Are there different size output shafts for a c4. The reason i am asking is I just had a c4 built by GER and I have everything installed, but when I went to put the drive line on it would not slide over the splines of the output shaft. I know there are different input shaft spline counts for different years but i have never heard of different size/spline for the output shafts.
