tbirdscott If its cracked your going to have to repace it, once it starts its done for. For painting use SEM vinyl paint, the best stuff around.

Painting vinyl top question

The paint on my 87 caprice brougham has been starting to get pretty faded over the last few years. Even starting to get a little bit of surface rust forming. Aside from various dings and a few dents the body isnt too bad

So I'm thinkin about giving it a decent paint job. I've never painted a whole car before but I think my caprice will be a good project.

The question I have is about the vinyl top. There is a lot of small cracks on the roof portion of the vinyl top. Do they make a product I can use to repair these cracks. Also is there a paint I can use to just paint over the existing vinyl top. I am trying to avoid removing the top, I did that on my 85 cutlass and it was a lot of work.

Tahnks for the help
