home brew Welcome to the site NamelessJoe. I think that some people put the the small Buick aluminum V8's in those Sunbeams. As well you might be able to put a Ford 289 in it like they put the 260 in the Tiger. I am sure someone on this site (probably from across the ocean on the island or continent) will have direct knowledge about putting a V8 in your car. Good luck with your build.

poncho62 Looks like good rodding material...not all hot rods have a v8................and with todays gas prices, I can see why. A late model v6 would go nice in that.

hot rod site

well... as the disscussions go... i like the build it how you want it and its a hotrod .. or back in the day they were suped up 20-30 yr old cars so this is a 40 yr old car and its unibody so right now i dont have the fabracation skills to drop somthing with 400 hp init but i can get a more modern motor with almost douple the output by only increasing engian (in comperasion) by .5liter so thats what ill try once i get it running

a newish to me car

i've been bouncing around with ideas for something to get on a budget.... when i signed up maybe the s10 but that never got back to me... sooooo i found this in our local free classifieds this week.... its a 1966 Sunbeam Minx which looks neat to me and the wife said it was cute and i got it for like 200 bucks, so the price was right... right now i just am going to try to get it cleaned up. it's estimated to be in a field for the past 5-6 yrs but i found the last registration in the glove box of 1980 which is cool, i think im going to try to start with the stock engine but i don't know what it will hold up to. ultimately it will be just a zippy fun car to drive with my family so im not going to drop a v8 in it(i don't think it would fit, you guys might know better) i was think about a built up 2 liter engine eventually, but id like to get it running 1st
sorry about the long spiel action im sure in about a week or so when im ready to jump into working on it ill have tons of questions
