I think all of the GM fisher bodied cars in 36 had wood reinforced doors, We are just finishing up a 36 chev 4 dr, and we had to replace all the door wood with steel tubing,, quite a task.. after the wood is removed,, all you have left is the outter skin of the door,, I found the best way to do the job is to hang the doors in the opening and get the gaps and reviels the way you want them,, tack weld them to the body so they stay in place,, then build a jig on the door to hold them in shape. where they cannot twist ,, then cut the tack welds loose and move them to a table so you can work on them,, I used 1/2 X 3/4 thin wall tubing and 22 ga sheet metal to reinforce them.. all the area around the windows have to be fabed . including the area where the window track, and garnish moldings mount,, quite a job,, lots of work.. and very time consuming,, to find a wood kit,, you might do a google search,, altho I could not find anyone that makes a 4 dr kit,, one guy in arkansas said he would make a kit for 5K if I would send him the old wood,, to use for patterns,, if the wood was good enough to use for patterns I wouldn't be replacing it,,
I will try to find a picture of the way the jig ws made,,,, good luck,, you'll need it,, Bill

for what it's worth.
The wood on 36 Old's and the rest of the GM devisions except Caddy should be the same. When I bought my 36 Buick, the previous owner had gotten new wood for it already. When I asked where he got it he said " the menonites". Some of the wood pieces you might be able to make yourself using the contour of the body as a guide.

1936 Oldsmobile Door Wood
I don't know if this should be in the interior or exterior discussion but here goes. I have a 4dr 1936 Olds Sedan. The wood in the back doors are rotted beyond use as a pattern. Does anyone know of a company that might have or make wood for '36 Fisher style bodies? Also in 36 Chevy went to an all metal door. Is that interchangeable with the Olds since they were both made by Fisher Bodys?
